Taking Care of Baby. . .

Last night Joe and I attended a baby care class at the hospital downtown.

In addition to learning infant CPR . . .

We learned how to diaper, bottle-feed, and bathe a baby. . .

We had lots of fun, and we're looking forward to practicing on The Who very soon!

Pie Pie Cakey!

One of Joe's favorite desserts is my raspberry cobbler. While I've made several cobblers this year, I am particularly proud of how this one turned out.

And the taste? YUM.

New Family Members

So, I found out that on Wednesday evening my cousin Greg's wife, Trisha, gave birth to a healthy baby girl. They named her Annalyn.

My other cousin Andy's wife, Nikki, is due with her second little boy in late September. They're going to name him Logan.

In honor of these two new additions to our family, I sent some handmade items to both moms this week. Can you guess what they were? Yep, that's right! Burp cloths, bibs, and for Annalyn some pink footies. Logan got some peepee teepees.

Congratulations, Greg and Trisha! Best wishes, Andy and Nikki! We're so happy for you!!!

Baby's First Set of Wheels

Grandma and Grandpa Keller visited Joe (Melissa was up in Sugar Grove, NC attending her first session of the second year of acupuncture studies) on Sunday and brought by a gift for the Who -- his very first set of wheels! Melissa was able to assemble the entire thing in less than 30 minutes. We can't wait to take it for a spin with it's very own little passenger.

Attiring the Little Prince

Joe and I are planning on having a Blessing Ceremony for the Who at some point after he's born. No dates yet, but we're thinking late winter or early spring before he reaches 6 months. One of the sewing projects that I have been laboring over (pun intended) has been an outfit for the Who to wear at this very special occasion.

The pictures below are my take on what is more commonly known as a "christening gown." Both boys and girls are typically baptized or dedicated in one, and I'm hoping that this one will become a family heirloom for future generations to come.

Reams of Rompers!

Well, you could say that I've hit my stride making making baby clothing. I tried my hand using cotton knit fabric to make three sets of rompers and matching jackets and hats.

Stripes

Polka dots

Solids

Mom helped me construct some shorts-length rompers when she and Daddy visited last week. Everything is too big for The Who until he gets to be closer to 6-9 months, but at least there won't be a shortage!
